In Upright’s assessment measuring corporate impacts, Barona received an overall score of +53, placing us among the world’s most impactful 20 percent. Our most positive impacts come from job creation, tax contributions, and the development of people’s skills.

Industry and construction are one of Barona’s four business areas. In 2024, its revenue was €112.5 million.

For Barona, employee wellbeing and work ability are a strategic choice and the cornerstone of the company’s future. We continuously develop our practices and processes to support the holistic wellbeing of our employees.

We monitor staff wellbeing through regular studies and surveys, the volume and effectiveness of which were significantly increased in 2024. This means we act proactively by identifying factors that threaten wellbeing and work ability at an early stage and by providing support in a timely manner. In 2024, we established a new Work Capability Specialist role to coordinate early identification of support needs. We work in close collaboration with HR, occupational healthcare, insurance partners, and supervisors to ensure effective support models.

Comprehensive wellbeing support

Barona has a wellbeing team that offers low-threshold support to all employees. The team consists of wide-ranging healthcare professionals. In 2024, the wellbeing team handled 45,000 phone and 6,000 email contacts. The wellbeing team’s NPS recommendation score was over +92.

Transparent responsibility

Approximately 60 of our clients use our EcoVadis assessment as part of their own sustainability reporting. In 2025, we received a score of 60/100 in the EcoVadis assessment and a Committed-level rating. In the Labour & Human Rights category, we received 75/100 points. Therefore, our result was better than 59% of all companies that participated in EcoVadis measurement.

Sick leave and accidents reduced

Total sick leave absences (mental health + musculoskeletal) decreased by approximately 18% in 2024. Mental health-related absences decreased by 20% and musculoskeletal absences by 14%.

Work accidents decreased by 21% in 2024 (the target was 20%).

Satisfied employees

The recommendation score (eNPS) of employees working at client sites was +36 in 2024, an improvement of 5 percentage points from the previous year.
